March 18, 2010 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. State Hospital Review and Planning Council - Project Review, Major Medical Eqipment and Appropriateness Review - Committees The Project Review Committee reviews Certificate of Need applications involving construction, service changes or establishments. The Major Medical Equipment and Appropriateness Review Committee (MME&ARC) develops and reviews appropriateness standards (Part 708) for various services, evaluates high technology equipment and advises the Council on such specialized services as organ transplants. The Codes and Regulations Committee reviews new or revised regulations relating to medical facility operational and structural standards, including quality of care and the need for the facilities and/or services. March 19, 2010 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Health Research Science Board The Health Research Science Board solicits, receives and reviews applications for awards from the Breast Cancer Research and Education Fund. It also reviews and approves or denies applications for access to confidential pesticide information. None

March 25, 2010 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Breast and Cervical Cancer Detection and Education Program Advisory Council The Breast and Cervical Cancer Detection and Education Program Advisory Council is authorized by Section 2404 of the New York State Public Health Law. The Council is responsible for working with the Department to evaluate the State's system for early detection and treatment of breast cancer and identifying and examining the limitations of existing laws, regulations, programs and services with regard to cervical cancer. March 26, 2010 10 a.m. - 2:15 p.m. Empire State Stem Cell Board Ethics Committee The Ethics Committee of the Empire State Stem Cell Board is responsible for making recommendations to the Funding Committee regarding scientific, medical and ethical standards relevant to research and clinical trials considered for funding through the Empire State Stem Cell Trust Fund. April 8, 2010 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. State Hospital Review and Planning Council The purpose of the State Hospital Review and Planning Council meeting is to consider final action on amendments to State reimbursement rules and the State Hospital Code and to make recommendations on applications for the establishment and/or construction of health care facilities. The 31-member Council, appointed by the Governor, is responsible under the Public Health Law for developing operating standards for hospitals, nursing homes and other health care facilities. It also makes recommendations on applications for establishment of new health facilities and other matters pertaining to health care institutions. None

April 19, 2010 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Council on Graduate Medical Education Plenary The New York State Council on Graduate Medical Education is an advisory body which provides advice to the Governor and Commissioner of Health on the formulation and implementation of State policies relating to graduate medical education and training. The membership is broadly representative of health professional, hospital and public interests. The Council was created by Executive Order in 1987 and was re-authorized by Executive Order on January 1, 2007. None
